Kuta Beach, Indonesia (round 1)

After an interesting and informative drive (it was hard not to ask why there was a swastika hanging from the rearview mirror, our driver explained that the Swastika, in Bali represents balance in all 4 areas of our life, how refreshing) from Ubud to Kuta we arrived at our lovely hotel. We couldn’t check-in right away so we dropped our things and went on tour. We looked at some of the shops, found some delicious food and then found ourselves on the beach. We found an umbrella for the girls and set-up camp, Ahhh! We were tired from all of the shops and the business of the city. Kuta is certainly different from Ubud, full of tourists, surfing and shopping!

After our relaxing afternoon we went on to our hotel were we sat at the bar in our pool and ordered some beer, pizza and banana pancakes (delicious). That evening, after a delicious meal we ran into Andrew Holmes (also from Hampton but works in Bejing) and his friend. We all ended up on the roof of Sky Garden as VIPs and danced the night away under the stars with a view of all of Kuta which was pretty spectacular.

Day 4 (2 in Kuta) was spent on the beach; getting our tan on and watching the surfers do their thing. Oh how I love a day on the beach!
